For years Georgia has been popular with Iranians thanks to visa-free entry, one-day company registration, low taxes and easy property purchase. Since 2025, however, the rules have tightened: from 1 March 2026 every foreigner needs a work permit to work or run their own business, the property residence threshold has risen to $150,000, and since January 2026 travel insurance is mandatory at the border.
